Re Sharmeen's comment: it was apparently very tongue-in-cheek, wasn't about the Rey project, and applied to a very specific topic where I'd argue it is entirely proper to cause some level of discomfort. I do see your point at approx. 19 minutes in and would agree that on a lot of topics and talking points. This can't work with sex- and gender-based abuses such as 'honour' abuse*, because the horror of them cannot be conveyed without everyone learning about them feeling some discomfort. No-one involved has to look or has to care, but if you do, prepare for some hard truths.

(*A much more experienced, brilliant colleague (I do work in the field of supporting women experiencing abuse) told me that this phrase should always be written with the quotation marks, in order to highlight that there is no real honour in it. Just in case anyone is interested.)

There's truth to that. Reminds me of Mel Gibsons 'Passion of the Christ' honestly. I remember the pastors at my church saying 'we're watching this and it'll be uncomfortable, but that is the point'

You had to watch that? Cripes. And then Mel Gibson showed us his true colours. Speaking of 'feeling uncomfortable' - listening to the voicemail he left for his daughter's mother. I do not recommend.
