Yoda's Most Famous Quote Can Help You
Video premiere plus a huge thank you from Stephen and Riley of Geeky Stoics
How many of you have tried, “Do! Or do not, there is no try” on a kid, friend, or colleague? Yoda’s famous quote from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back has to be one of the most referenced lines in the whole saga, and it also could be the most confusing. I for one feel like every time I’ve ever said these words to my own child, I’m always met with a frustrated glare and — “What does that even mean?!! You don’t want me to try?!”
Our culture loves to promote effort and the mantra of giving it your best shot. That’s not a bad thing necessarily. You wouldn’t want to deter people from trying new things and stepping out of the ledge of the unknown, but there is something inherently limiting about mere effort versus clear-eyed commitment.
That’s why
made this new video for Geeky Stoics! And it is premiering right now on YouTube. Would you click, Like, watch, and Comment? Also, we have something else important to tell you….THANK YOU for making our YouTube release last week such a huge success. You all made our video on Star Wars & Moral Relativity a big success with 6,400 views…our most yet for the channel. We more than doubled our Subscriber count there and notched another 10,000 views on Shorts for that video. And that is in large part due to our readers here helping boost that video right when it premiered. You all did that.
Riley put a lot of love into this new video. He even traveled to a real swamp in Georgia that he thought resembled Dagobah so he could shoot the video and talk about Luke Skywalker’s valuable learning moment with Yoda and lifting the X-Wing from the bog.
