You know, on a serious note, I think Andor is a fine example (like the prequels) of how when people say "keep politics out of x" they mean cheap social commentary and canned talking points. When you do hard politics, real depth, you don't see as much blowback. It's not politics that offends, it's MESSAGING.
I didn't mind "Obi Wan" or even the "Boba Fet" show. But i knew what they were...fan service and thats perfectly fine. I like being validated but i respect being challenged far more. I might have been more amused with those shows but Andor really hit a mark.
It's one of those things where I can so succinctly remember and quote it. It's a slower, more methodical political thriller. Completely at odds with the original vision of a "Buck Rodgers" kind of adventure of the OG series. Once again I adore adventure stories like the recent "Skeleton Crew" show.
But if you to ask me to only keep one show...or heck any one product from Disney Star Wars it would be "Rogue One" and "Andor". Perhaps the most mature and political offerings in the Disney Star Wars Roster.
Rogue One and Andor respect their audience and clearly are meant for a more mature audience. One who is expected to engage with it's ideals and really think, not merely be entertained.
Will have to listen later and come back for my commentary. I had no idea folks associated his manifesto with Marxism but ok 😅
I think I live in a bubble Nick rofl
But also where’s the leave politics out of Star Wars crowd now?!?! 🤣🤣

Add in Rebels and the final season of Clone Wars and I would be perfectly happy with that being it of Star Wars
