Who HATED Stoicism the most?
Tolkien, Chesterton, Lewis and Stoic philosophy
This weekend I toiled away on an essay comparing the views of J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis and G.K. Chesterton when it comes to Stoicism. Who was a friend of Marcus Aurelius, and who was a foe? The answer may surprise you. This video is a bit longer than my usual work, but I hope you’ll dig in and learn a bit about the cases made for and against Stoic thought.
The case against is quite compelling.
