Star Wars on humility, empathy & free will
A feature-length interview & Star Wars discussion guide from Stephen Kent
Happy May 4th to all those who celebrate! It’s Star Wars Day.
Earlier this year I stopped by Dad Saves America in Austin, TX to be interviewed by John Papola, a filmmaker and veteran of classic Nickelodeon as well as SpikeTV. He’s been through the world of Paramount Studios pretty thoroughly. John and I spoke for an hour about How The Force Can Fix The World, my book on Star Wars’ core virtues that can help to heal America’s fractious politics. Yes, I really do believe that.
Humility - Empathy - Courage - Hope - Choice - Redemption - Balance
These are the things we’ve lost in our culture. It’s not a surprise that politics has caught up with us in this way. I’d love it if you checked this out & shared it with a Star Wars friend in your life.
To add to the excitement around the wide-ranging interview, John and I also cooked up a little something extra for Star Wars fans. You can download here a Star Wars viewing guide for parents and kids, to watch Star Wars films together and then discuss some of the weighty moral questions in them.

The content is written by me and inspired by what I did with How The Force Can Fix The World. Ultimately, Star Wars like any other story, is only good in so far that it gets shared…passed down. This guide is to help you do that, if words aren’t your strength.
