Learn economics with Star Wars & BIG news
New podcast + the announcement of my YouTube show debuting TOMORROW
This month has been a little much. Thanks for your patience as I found my way back to the keyboard. In your podcast feed you should this months podcast, Understanding Economics with the Power of Star Wars. Matthew Rousu and Bailey Hackenberry of EconomicsofStarWars.com joined me to explain their site and the idea of breaking down basic concepts of economics using great scenes from Star Wars.
I learned a lot. Economics is not my first language, so I walked away with what felt like a more practical understanding of some concepts like Game Theory, Scarcity & Value and Opportunity Cost. Take a listen below on your mobile.
“These are your first steps”
Well maybe second or third. A dream of mine came true this week. It came true when I got to a bright blue set built near the White House, from scratch, with all my favorite items on a fresh set of shelves (what items are there? more on that below)
A few months ago I started developing a show with a new network called Rightly. It’s a new project of Al Jazeera. The show is “Right Now”. They wanted to develop some programming for young conservatives, and I think in part, the hard work we’ve done (myself and past collaborators) on the Beltway Banthas Podcast played a part in making that possible. Thank you, all of you.
The show launches tomorrow on YouTube and will have new episodes every Thursday. I’ll be cooking this up every week in addition to my normal day-job, the book (How The Force Can Fix The World), this newsletter and the podcast. Things are a bit hectic, but I’ll be working my darndest to keep everything going. I love doing this newsletter and it means a lot to me that so many of you say it’s valuable to you.
Here’s a little teaser of a monologue to kick off the show. Would you please please please to do things for me?
1) Hit that wee yellow button
2) Send the show to 1 or 2 friends who you think might like this kind of content. Maybe a friend, sister, brother or crazy crazy uncle.
