“Like drinking from a firehose.” I find myself saying that a lot lately. Hello friends! I wanted to touch base with you all on a few things. First, How The Force Can Fix The World is headed to the printers in the next week. I spent the weekend offering final edits on the completely formatted (beautiful) digital version of the book. I also received last week, a look at the wrapped jacket for the hardcover edition. Here it is below (featuring a few sticky notes of me making edits for the printer)
One of my favorite things you’ll see on this cover, is that I successfully collected some cool endorsements for the book. They include notes from Kristen Soltis Anderson, Glenn Beck, Clayton Sandell and Fmr. Mayor Betsy Hodges. When I finally had all of these land in my inbox (just hours before deadline) I’d be lying if I said I didn’t shed some tears. Must have been all that firehose water just looking for a way out. It’s so wild to be that this idea, going back to a coffee shop conversation where I may have said “that would be a neat book idea” has now actually become…this.
If you haven’t yet, would you be willing to buy a copy? If you do, Tweet me about it @Stephen_Kent89.
On the show hosting side of things, we did an episode last week on Big Tech and the fight on the American right over whether regulation meets the gravity of the moment. Libertarians and conservatives are ripping each others heads off about the subject, and so I brought on one of each to make their case for (or against) government action against Facebook, Twitter, Google and the likes. It was a lively debate and one I’d recommend you check out if you want to understand the shifting ground the Republian Party finds itself on these days…regarding “free market” belief.
That’s all for today. I will be sending out a post later this week on the politics of The Last Jedi debate, and why is a nightmare that will never end.
